ALES Test

Students who want to pursue graduate studies in Turkey are required to sit for an exam
known as “Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Exam, or ALES”. This exam is
organized and managed by the Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM). Some of the
universities in Turkey require ALES scores for admittance into the master and doctoral degree
programes.
The ALES test is a taxonomic examination for the selection and distribution of students
to Turkish universities for the post-graduate’s level, and is usually entered by students who want
to enroll in government universities to complete their master’s studies, as well as for a PhD.
